“We are honored to be recognized by Virginia Business Magazine and join such an esteemed group of Virginia leaders,” said Stottlemyer. “As a global company headquartered in Northern Virginia, Ascentra Health and its more than 3,200 employees are passionate about innovating technology-based health solutions and services that improve the lives of people in every state across the U.S. Virginia is consistently recognized as one of the best places to do business and we are fortunate to call it home.”

Acentra Health develops and deploys health technology solutions and services that help government health agencies improve outcomes for the priority populations they serve. The company’s work drives efficiencies and cost savings across 45 state and 25 federal agencies. Since 2007, the company has been a key partner with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS), providing utilization management services to two million Virginians who receive care through the state’s Cardinal Care Medicaid program. In 2023, DMAS expanded its partnership with Acentra Health, signing a new five-year agreement that expands the company’s scope of work to include service authorization for behavioral health services.

A Northern Virginia resident, Stottlemeyer has led several Virginia-based companies in the technology and healthcare sectors and contributed to the region’s economic development. Since becoming CEO of Ascentra Health in 2018, he has overseen multiple acquisitions, expanded the company’s capabilities, and more than doubled its global workforce, including more than 300 employees in Virginia, Maryland, and the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Virginia Growth and Opportunity (GO) Committee, a member of the Executive Committee of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, and serves on multiple other boards, including Wolf Trap Performing Arts Foundation. A passionate advocate for hunger relief and education, Stottlemeyer was recognized as a Champion by No Kid Hungry in 2023 for his work inspiring Northern Virginia technology leaders to raise more than $1 million to fight child hunger while children were learning at home during the pandemic.

According to Virginia Business, the 500 Power List honorees are selected, not nominated, by the magazine’s editorial staff after an extensive survey of Virginia executives in 20 industries across Virginia. The complete list can be found at Virginia Business Magazine.
